In search of a header
Posted 1 week, 3 days agomy site redesign (again) is all but complete now, and I think all that’s really missing is a good header. I spent about an hour screwing around in photoshop last night until I finally realized I just don’t have the skill to creat something good enough. Creating the images for this template probably stretched my skill as far as it can go.
What I really need to do is browse the sxc.hu and see if I can’t find something good. Unfortunately half the time I can’t even access the site, so that could be tricky. If anybody reading this has some mad graphics skillz then please contact me jesse (at) resiny (dot) org. We can work something out.
I’ve been looking at something old book/map-ish, because I think it would really fit into the feel of the site. Unfortunately, though, it can be hard to find a good picture like that which will work for a header…*sigh*

mmm… I don’t have ‘mad graphics skillz’ but I’ll look out for old book/mapish pictures. Apart from the lack of a header I think the design is pretty good (although it would look better with some smooth rounded corners
I’ll send you an email within the hour.

Rounded corners are one of my fetishes, though I’m still figuring out how to make them. I’m comfortable pumping out CSS with notepad, but doing stuff in photoshop and the like is a bit new to me
Yeah, a header isn’t always necessary, and I like the effect you get when you go sans header, but my graphics skills are minimal
Wow! I really like where you’re going with this. It’s elegant and easy on the eyes. I can’t wait to see what you decide to do about the header.

glad you like it liz…by the way, the timestamps on these comments are screwy because this blog was on GMT, and I switched it to US Central, but everything that was posted is remaining on GMT, so…yeah. that explains the mixed up order
A while ago, I ran into this same problem! What I decided to do is go with no header at all! Instead, I added some small, but nice-looking graphics within my layout to spice it up a bit. I really like the way it came out!
Yea I too have the same problem with deciding on a header, so i just stayed with a plain boring header
